Important Limitation of Verification
Verification by Momz & Popz is intended to confirm eligibility for platform participation. It is not a certification, endorsement, warranty, or guarantee of ongoing regulatory compliance. Businesses are independently responsible for maintaining all required licenses, health standards, and legal obligations. Momz & Popz does not inspect, audit, or continuously monitor participating businesses.
What We Verify
Before a business is approved for the platform, we review the following eligibility criteria. Not all criteria apply to every business type or jurisdiction.
Independently owned and operated (not a franchise or corporate chain)
Operates in the food or beverage industry
Active business license where required by the applicable jurisdiction
Tax registration or EIN/SSN documentation where applicable
Physical operating presence, approved brick-and-mortar, food truck, or qualifying home-based kitchen operation
Contact information verification (phone and/or email)
Website and/or social media verification where available
Menu or service verification confirming active food or beverage offerings
Confirmation of compliance with local health regulations where applicable
Owner identity confirmation (name and role)
Eligible Business Types
The following types of independent food and beverage businesses are eligible to apply for platform membership:
Family-owned restaurants and diners
Independent coffee shops and cafés
Bakeries and pastry shops
Food trucks and mobile food operations
Independent breweries and taprooms
Wineries and cideries
Juice bars and smoothie shops
Home kitchens (where legally permitted by local law)
Specialty food shops and delis
Independent caterers
Farmers market vendors (where applicable and verified)
Independent cocktail lounges and bars
Tea houses and boba shops
Meal prep and specialty diet businesses
Not Eligible
The following are not eligible for platform participation:
National or regional chain restaurants
Franchise locations (e.g., Subway, Dunkin, McDonald's)
Corporate-owned multi-location chains
Ghost kitchens that do not operate a qualifying independent food concept
Businesses that have received platform violations and not remedied them
Businesses misrepresenting ownership structure
Businesses operating without required government licensing in their jurisdiction
The Verification Process
Application Submission
Business owners submit an application with business details, documentation, and ownership declaration.
AI Pre-Screening
Our AI assistant performs an initial eligibility check, flagging potential chain affiliations or missing criteria.
Manual Review
Our human review team evaluates each application, confirming the business meets all applicable eligibility standards.
Approval or Rejection
Approved businesses receive a Verified Independent badge. Rejected businesses receive a written reason and may reapply.
Ongoing Monitoring
Approved businesses remain subject to community reporting, periodic re-review, and removal for non-compliance with platform standards.
Verification Appeals
If your application was rejected and you believe the decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal within 30 days. Include any additional documentation that supports your eligibility. Contact us at verify@mompopzlife.com.
